WHAT’S UP WITH THAT
A reader asked about crows seen on the Peninsula with mangy necks and wondered if disease was going around. The Weekly called Monterey Audubon Society’s Chris Hartzell, who checked in with ornithologists at Cornell University. What Hartzell learned confirmed his own suspicions: The crows are in heavy molt right now.
