WHAT’S UP WITH THAT? Kevin Phillips, part owner of the new Big Fish Grill at the end of Old Fisherman’s Wharf, wanted to know WTF was up with “an offensive comment” from Carlos Garcia in last week’s letters that said the kitchen was dirty when he worked in the building (under prior ownership). “Our kitchens, restrooms, bar and dining room are impeccably clean,” Phillips wrote. “Come see for yourself, Carlos. When did Mr. Garcia work in this building? It’s been here more than 60 years. If you know nothing and can’t say anything positive about local people working very hard, Mr. Garcia, then please shut the hell up.” Big Fish soft-opened May 1, replacing longtime Monterey icon Rappa’s.
