As far as studio owner Laura McKinnon is concerned, yoga is for everybody. And that means you. “If you can breathe, and you can breathe mindfully,” she says in her welcome video, “you’re already practicing yoga.” To that end, she has built a yoga community in Monterey County meant to reach people: in three locations, across all ages, at every level. There’s yoga for kids, therapeutic yoga, yoga to make you sweat. SYS offers a wide selection of class times and packages, plus special workshops, kirtans, teacher trainings and community events. Chant it (kirtan) or pant it (kundalini)—it’s your yoga.
