This is a big win for best vegetarian. After many, many, many years, a challenger finally unseated longtime winners Tillie Gorts. That place is Happy Girl Kitchen, Tillie’s neighbor on Central Avenue in Pacific Grove. The Girl’s goal is to source tasty goodness from as nearby as possible. All of their fruits and vegetables come from within 100 miles, and they make everything in-house, from pickled spicy carrots and kombucha to tasty daily soups, lunch bowls and sandos. The longtime queen gets unseated by a a most deserving girl.
