To some, doing the ascent up Half Dome on cable is a dream come to true. To others, it’s a sweat-inducing nightmare. An easier and closer option is the “Steep and Narrow” section of Pinnacles National Park’s High Peaks Trail. This 0.7-mile hike traverses the park’s steep western face as it travels over some of its most notable rock formations via steep steps carved into the cliffs. Don’t worry those with a fear of heights; there are handrails for support.
