Nak Won Korean BBQ House

330 Reservation Road, Marina

(831) 883-2302

Their name has been a source of flux and confusion. Nak Won. Royal Korean. Korean BBQ House. All these names apply, simultaneously, and they all point to this Marina staple that’s been in business for 10 years on Reservation Road. They get the nod in a small but competitive field of Best Korean Restaurant with tasty and beloved clear jap-chae and ramen soup noodles, rice dumpling soup (a Korean New Year tradition), salty grilled mackerel, flavorful side dishes of banchan, smart and affordable bento boxes. The ambiance—a big screen TV, fish tank, obligatory posters—is not much to look at, though eating in the atrium room on a sunny or rainy day is pretty cool. The food furnishes the real art, whether bubbling hot soups or marinated barbecue meats cooked on inset grills at your table. And the feeling is that of a neighborhood spot. No confusion there.
