Crepes of Brittany
6B Old Fisherman’s Wharf, Monterey (831) 649-1825
Prepare to battle the crowds of reversible-jacketed tourists, especially if it’s the weekend and you want a table. But this crêpe station tucked inside the Coffee House packs a greater flavor-to-space ratio than a New York hot dog cart. Savory or sweet, they’ve got it – from buckwheat-based creations enfolding smoked salmon, ham or veggies to the simple and heavenly lemon sugar or the decadence bomb aka peach melba. These babies come out perfectly thin and chewy, and the fresh-made whipped cream deserves its own award. Plus, it’s owned by French expats so you know the recipes are authentic.
