No official word whether the whole pig spit-roasted for Monday Night Football at Kula Ranch or the shawarma on the vertical spike at House of Gyro or the special al pastor on a similar setup at Mi Tierra qualify, but this vote was officially a runaway, with the annual indulgence that is the fair taking top honors for its satays, corn dogs, gator bites on a stick, eggrolls on a stick, frozen bananas on a stick, chocolate-covered-frozen-cheesecake on a stick, kabobs and turkey legs. “On its own stick, lol,” a fair insider emails. As the man who first proposed the category puts it, “Put it on a stick. Eating gets easier. Life gets better.”
