• This Saturday, the Panetta Institute’s 14th Annual Jefferson-Lincoln Awards recognizes three dignitaries who the institute deems have exhibited “remarkable dedication to the key principles of our democracy and the ideals of our nation.” They are longtime broadcast journalist Bob Schieffer, Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Georgia, and Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Maryland. • In California, the union of ocean science and art has been rising and converging, from the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute and SpectorDance multi-media collaboration called Ocean of a couple years ago, to the Sea Change exhibition atHayward Shoreline Interpretive Center this past summer. Following that tradition, 5-7pm this Sunday is the preview and fundraiser for the Sea Changes Act at Museum of Monterey.
