Loving this story. And also hating it (“Sean Parker Wedding brings Ventana Inn’s campground violations to light,” June 13-19). It’s a shame that none of that $2.5 million fine will go to the Coastal Commission. - Dave Schmalz | via Facebook

That money will go into a black hole never to be seen again. - Larry Jones | via Facebook

I guess the 1-percenters get what they want. Period. - Tom DeBiase | via Facebook

(Editor’s note: According to the settlement struck by the California Coastal Commission and Facebook billionaire Sean Parker, $1 million of the $2.5-million fine Parker is paying will go to the Coastal Conservancy Fund’s violation remediation fund, or directed to a coastal access/recreation/conservation project in Monterey County. The other $1.5 million will go to a conservation or public-access project to be implemented by a nonprofit or public agency.)
