Two people were killed in a shooting Monday night, June 22 at a gas station in Greenfield.

The shooting, according to the Greenfield Police Department, took place around 10:50pm at the Fastrip gas station, 145 El Camino Real.

The victims have been identified by the Monterey County Coroner's Office as 32-year-old Elizabeth Saavedra and 26-year-old Aldo Juan Mandujano.

According to Greenfield Police Chief Guillermo Mixer, Mandujano was a Norteño gang member from King City, while Saavedra was from Soledad.

“Dozens of rounds were fired and gang reasons are the primary driver for the shooting, we believe,” Mixer says. “We had that Sureño gang member that was killed recently in Soledad, so that's the most likely culprit for it, there's always the back and forth between the gangs; there’s violence and revenge.”

According to police, officers arrived just under a minute after the initial 911 call. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from the gas station and Flock and Surveillance Grid camera systems.

Greenfield Police are asking the community’s help in any videos or images related to the incident. Tips can be submitted online.
