Freedom of the press is something we take seriously at the Weekly. There is a plethora of selfish bastards who would love to do whatever they want, with no accountability – certainly not to some know-it-all journalists. Our role is to cover issues, institutions and people important to Monterey County, to make sense of it all as best we can, to expose wrongdoing and stimulate debate.
