A woman was stabbed multiple times Friday night at Fort Ord Dunes State Park and had to be airlifted to a hospital in critical condition, authorities said.
The stabbing is being investigated by California State Parks officials as the beach is part of their jurisdiction. Investigators in that departments were not immediately available for comment.
However, Seaside police officers confirmed the incident occurred shortly before midnight. They helped secure the crime scene and said it appears there was only one victim.
Currently, there is no information regarding the person or people suspected in the crime, or if there is anyone in custody.
