There is a Juneteenth Artist Pop-Up at Oldemeyer Center in Seaside – a small but interesting show curated by one of the artists, Victoria Park Lee. The works displayed on both sides of the main lobby are made by such artists as Sandra Gray (her “Nambian Smokin’ Grandma” is shown above), Shari Hasty, Hannelore Eggemann, Friedel Rise, Edward M Corpus and Edi Matsumoto. Additionally, photos from Willie Gray’s Juneteenth Collection are on display. They document Harriet Tubman’s Underground Railroad. This event honors Juneteenth, a day of remembrance, resilience and joy, while supporting local artists. A reception is scheduled for 5-8pm Friday, June 12. The center is located at 986 Hilby Ave., Seaside. Open 8:30am-5pm Monday through Friday. On display until June 26.
