Many would agree that this 1903 Haynes-Apperson (shown above) is a piece of art. Learn about the early Monterey Bay motoring culture and the beginning of the horseless carriage and racing at the Racing to Del Monte & Pebble Beach exhibit at Monterey History and Art at Stanton Center. In addition to drivable art pieces, there are rare photographs from the 1903 inaugural races from San Jose to the famed Del Monte Hotel race track and Pebble Beach, and photos from the groundbreaking hill climbs along Carmel Hill.
