It’s time for everything jade. Just in time for the 2025 International Jade Summit at the Monterey Bay Jade Festival happening this weekend, Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History (165 Forest Ave., Pacific Grove; 10am-4pm Wednesday to Sunday) presents an exhibit titled Jade Beneath the Sea. Big Sur jade is a distinctive local stone that comes from Jade Cove, where the only known large deposit of quality nephrite jade is located underwater. In art, it has been in use for decades. The above photograph shows earrings made by P.G. artist Josh Robertson. He is showing his jade craft next to other Pacific Grove artists Sandy Hamm, Roger Curtice and Don Wobber. The opening of the exhibit takes place at 7:30pm on Thursday, June 12.
