“Negro Spiritual (ft. Shane Smit),” the fourth tune on Strawberry Girls’ full-length debut, French Ghetto, drove a DeLorean back to the ’70s to experience Black Sabbath’s exhilarating riffs and study the mathematics of musical composition. The other nine tracks on the record—featuring Zac Garren (guitar, bass, glockenspiel), Ben Rosett (percussion, bass, ambient guitar) and Ian Jennings (bass, Rhodes).
