Your VOTE is Your Voice! is the name of the new show that can be admired at the Monterey Regional Airport, part of the Art at the Airport program. The exhibit features work created by students who participated in an art contest hosted by the League of Women Voters of Monterey County. Last spring the local league held a poster contest and sent out entry information to 50 local public and private schools and art programs, asking high school kids to create graphics that extol the importance of voting. After selecting two grand prize winners and eight merit winners, they displayed the posters at local school libraries. Then MRY asked to exhibit the students’ work there, so travelers or general members of the public can get some democratic inspiration from the next generation. On display until late November.
