DAVID HOHMANN
David Hohmann presents his exhibit titled Back at it! In the Gill Gallery at the Pacific Grove Art Center. Hohmann works in his private Marina studio. He started drawing as soon as he could pick up a pencil in elementary school, and was strongly influenced by the popular Saturday morning cartoons of the 1960s. As Hohmann grew into his teen years, he was impressed with the pen and ink illustrations of underground magazines (Zap Comix, etc.) and rock ‘n’ roll posters of the ’60s and ’70s. “Every drawing starts fresh, with no preconceived plan, “ he wrote on his website. “I create as I draw; I let the artwork ‘piece’ itself together.” On display until Feb. 22.
