There is a big new art exhibit space, 480 Lighthouse Gallery, in Pacific Grove. It’s the largest gallery on the Monterey Peninsula, with 10,000 square feet, beautiful hardwood floors and mounted art and lighting. There are two levels of a wide variety of art in many mediums and styles including abstract, realism, Native American, impressionism and more. Many local artists already have a piece or two in the gallery that strives to represent Monterey County artists. Currently, over 302 paintings and sculptures by 145 artists are showing. There are also counters inside the gallery with electronic push-buttons, tallying the number of visitors’ “likes” for each work. The gallery takes only a 10-percent commission. The gallery name gives away the gallery location, 480 Lighthouse Ave., formerly Hambrook's Auction Center.
