The literary cliche from The Wizard of Oz is, "Lions, tigers and bears, oh my!" but the Monterey Zoo off River Road in Salinas has all three and more.
Owner/operator Charlie Sammut toured the Weekly around the zoo to view his collection, which includes everything from capybaras, alligators and kangaroos, to the large beasts of African elephants, African lions and bengal tigers.
