The Timber Fire has grown to nearly 16,000 acres and is 26 percent contained, as of 3pm on Tuesday, Aug. 25, an increase of 3,382 acres in the last 24 hours. A total of 661 structures are currently threatened and the cause of the fire, which began on Aug. 8, remains under investigation.

Although fire activity remained relatively quiet last night, according to incident command, fire crews were told to prepare for critical fire weather with humidity expected to drop at higher elevations.
