The return of Tamie Aceves to the Pacific Grove restaurant scene is always a good thing.
Less than two months after closing The Grill at Point Pinos, the restaurateur appears ready to create another destination.
Aceves’ Crema Lovers Point has applied to transfer liquor licenses from the Pacific Grove Golf Links space to the one recently vacated by California Seltzer Co. at 631 Ocean View Blvd. in Pacific Grove, across the street from Lovers Point. The requested transfer includes a Type 47 full liquor license and a Type 58 catering license.
The application is currently in its 30-day public protest period.
Aceves had indicated that she planned to find another location after negotiations with the City of Pacific Grove to extend her lease at the popular golf course establishment broke down. The Grill at Point Pinos was a favorite for five years. In 2025, Weekly readers voted it the Best Restaurant on a Golf Course and Best Huevos Rancheros. Ironically, she received the plaques on the day she finished packing to leave the space.
Before Grill at Point Pinos, Aceves operated Crema on Lighthouse, for eight years a quaint brunch favorite. Covid forced her to close the restaurant. Even in its final year, readers named it Best Brunch.
Aceves also helped to open Lucy’s on Lighthouse, another local crowd-pleaser.
There is no word on a timeline toward opening Crema Lovers Point.
