Fieldwork Brewing Co. took to social media to announce that it is stepping away from its Monterey location after almost a decade. The taps at the downtown beer garden will continue to pour until the new tenant is able to take over.

"With our lease coming to an end at 560 Munras Avenue, we're preparing for a new chapter," the statement read.

Out of the Barrel Taproom is expected to open at the popular space on Munras Avenue, pending approval of its beer sales license by the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

The taproom pours a selection from regional craft breweries—beers, ciders and spritzers from producers including Alvarado Street Brewery in Monterey, Santa Cruz’s Humble Sea Brewing Co., Sante Adairius Rustic Ales in Capitola and more. Fieldwork is also on Out of the Barrel’s taplist.

The company has locations in Campbell, Los Gatos, San Carlos and Fresno.

Fieldwork opened its original Berkeley brewery in 2014, expanding to 10 other cities in California. The brewery came to Monterey in 2017.
