What does it mean to truly embody a fictional character? Actor/director/theater artist Noah Lucé has not only trained himself in how to do that (with specialties in Irish, Minnesotan and Southern dialects), but as a lecturer of drama at UC Santa Cruz, is training another generation in how to do so too.
Lucé has appeared on many local stages with roles in productions by Pacific Repertory Theatre, New Canon Theatre Co. and The Western Stage, as well as regional stages like Santa Cruz Shakespeare, and beyond. He has performed in Shakespeare classics like Othello, Much Ado About Nothing and Macbeth, as well as contemporary plays.
Lucé’s experience in theater is multifaceted. He works as an intimacy choreographer, helping actors navigate touching and sexual contact on stage while honoring boundaries and content. He also works as a fight choreographer.
In addition to other roles, he currently serves as associate artistic director with New Canon Theatre Company, and is an assistant faculty member with Theatrical Intimacy Education.
Monterey County Weekly Editor Sara Rubin will interview Lucé about live performance, how old works are delivered to contemporary audiences, and more.
