After a week since the tragic two-vehicle collision on Jolon Road claimed the lives of two drivers, a GoFundMe campaign has been formed to help the family cope with the tragedy.
The accident, which happened on Jolon Road south of Heinsen Road on the night of Wednesday Oct. 28, cost the lives of Sean McArthur, 39, of Lockwood, and Armin Salehpour, 58, of Los Angeles, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. In addition, it left three other people seriously injured—a GoFundMe campaign has been established to support the McArthur family as they navigate an unimaginable loss.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers from King City responded to the crash at approximately 8:38 pm on Oct, 28. According to CHP, a Honda sedan was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when it veered into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a Ford.
Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage. The Honda driver, Salehpour, was partially ejected during the collision and died at the scene.
The Ford was carrying McArthur and his family, all of whom were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. McArthur later died at Natividad Medical Center, while the remaining three passengers, his wife Melissa, their daughter Hazel and their son Lincoln suffered moderate to major injuries and are now healing from their loss together.
CHP investigators suspect alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
Those wishing to help the McArthur family are encouraged to consider contributing to the fundraiser by visiting GoFundMe.
The GoFundMe organizers Brian and Sarah Nisse shared on the webpage that the McArthur family was able to have a “mellow Halloween together. There is still lots of healing to come, but they are home now and appreciate having the time and space to heal together.”
Sean McArthur’s celebration of life will take place on Sunday, November 8 at the Barney Schwartz Park (Lake) located at 2970 Union Rd, Paso Robles at 12pm.
