Prepare your costumes, makeup and candy bag as this Halloween, Downtown Salinas City Center invites families from across Monterey County to join in the fun at the annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat event on Saturday, October 31

From 11am to 2 pm, Main Street will be alive with costumes, candy, and community spirit in a celebration for kids and adults.

Attendees can expect more than just traditional trick-or-treating. The event promises face painting booths, festive photo opportunities, and a special lineup of local mascots representing organizations throughout Monterey County.

“We’re thrilled to bring back this community favorite, giving families a safe and exciting way to celebrate Halloween while discovering all the wonderful businesses Downtown Salinas has to offer,” said Greg Hamer, district coordinator for Salinas City Center.

A highlight this year is the free digital Trick-or-Treat Passport, available through advance registration. The passport adds an interactive twist, allowing families to check in at participating businesses along Main Street.

Completing a check-in automatically enters participants into a raffle to win a $100 Lettuce Cash digital gift card, which encourages shopping and dining locally.

“Lettuce Cash is our way of supporting downtown merchants and keeping the community connected,” Hamer said.

The event is possible through generous sponsorship from the Arts Council for Monterey County and other local partners and is a free accessible gathering to all the goblins, ghosts and other monsters in the night.
