ELLIOT BENDER Retired l Monterey
A: My favorite author is James Lee Burke. I fall in love with characters.
Living Large: An autobiography. My story would be pretty interesting; I’ve had five careers.
RAYMOND TAKOR | Student l Monterey
A: Generation Kill. I was in the military and I ran into some people like its characters.
Helping Hand: A manual melding technical concepts with application. Computer science is what I do.
MARIANNE VANGELDER | Retired l Monterey
A:. L. Ron Hubbard’s Battlefield Earth. John Travolta starred in the movie [adaptation] that was a big failure.
Write Stuff: I’m writing one now, a sci-fi story about a woman from another planet whose “people” come to fetch her. There’s a lot of bloodshed and dying.
