My History
As the 26th President of the United States, I have a long history of championing education, conservation, and the well-being of the American people. From leading the Rough Riders up San Juan Hill to preserving millions of acres of our nation’s natural beauty, I have always believed in the power of bold action and dedicated service. Now, I’m turning my focus to a cause that is near and dear to my heart: the education of our future leaders right here on the Monterey Peninsula.
Education has always been a cornerstone of my vision for a strong and prosperous America. During my presidency, I emphasized the importance of a well-rounded education for all citizens, recognizing that it is the foundation upon which our democracy is built. Now, I seek to bring that same energy, passion, and commitment to the Monterey Peninsula Community College District.
My Plans
As your Governing Board Member for Trustee Area 3, I will bring my proven leadership and dedication to the students, faculty, and community of the Monterey Peninsula. My focus will be on ensuring that our community college provides the highest quality education, prepares students for the future, and serves as a beacon of opportunity for all.
Expanding Educational Opportunities: Just as I expanded the national parks to preserve the beauty of our nation, I will work tirelessly to expand educational opportunities for all students in our district. This includes supporting new programs that prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow, enhancing vocational training, and ensuring that every student has the resources they need to succeed.
Strengthening the Community College System: I will ensure that Monterey Peninsula College remains a leader in education, offering cutting-edge programs, top-notch faculty, and a supportive learning environment. Our community college should be a model for others to follow—exemplifying the best in public education.
Championing Accessibility and Affordability: Education should be accessible to all, regardless of background or financial status. I will advocate for policies that keep tuition affordable and provide robust financial aid options, ensuring that everyone in our community has the opportunity to pursue higher education.
Promoting Civic Engagement: As a staunch advocate of civic duty, I will encourage programs that foster a sense of community and responsibility among students. It is crucial that our students not only excel academically but also understand the importance of active participation in our democracy.
Ensuring Environmental Stewardship: Conservation was one of my greatest passions as President, and I will bring that same commitment to our community college. I will support initiatives that promote sustainability on campus and prepare students to be responsible stewards of our environment.
