The tradition of the Monterey Bonsai Club goes back to the 1960s when the then-Monterey Bonsai Study Group was founded. This is the 63rd edition of the group’s annual exhibit, The Living Art of Bonsai. This one-day-only show includes a demonstration on how to shape a tree by Katsumi Kinoshita, the club’s sensei, who has over 50 years of experience working on bonsai. “Bonsai is a living art form,” wrote artist Heidi Hybl on behalf of the club. “Its objective is to capture the grandeur of and beauty of nature on a small scale. Every tree is unique.” Noon-4pm Sunday, June 7. Buddhist Temple in Seaside, 1155 Noche Buena St.
